MEET Dianiz & Wilfredo
Owners of Artesanía Boricua Familiar
About a year ago, this beautiful family walked into a Latinas Evolving event and kept showing up. They listened. They absorbed. They engaged with our panelists and with every conversation we were having. That alone means everything.
Dianiz and Wilfredo are a Boricua family from Aguadilla, Puerto Rico, now rooted here in Buffalo, NY. Through Artesanía Boricua Familiar, they create stunning art in wood and other materials, sharing their talent, their love for Puerto Rican culture, and a deep commitment to educating others about their roots. Their work is more than art. It is heritage. It is identity. It is pride.
Not long ago, the three of us got into a conversation where I shared a possibility, an opportunity. I talk to a lot of people. I plant seeds, I pour into people because that's what I'm called to do. But not everyone listens. And not everyone takes that first step.
Dianiz and Wilfredo did.
They listened. They took what resonated, they moved in faith, and because of that, they will be opening the doors to their very own space this May. A small but warm and welcoming place, built with love and dedication, created to share their culture and art with the entire Buffalo community. That is what happens when you say yes to opportunity.
I know this feeling all too well, having a vision, a dream, wanting so badly to bring it to life but not always knowing how. And watching someone push through that uncertainty and come out on the other side? There are no words.
